S02E19 – Pause
Hello and welcome to This Little Light of Mine, my name is James Powell and I’m so glad that you are able to join me for today’s special episode entitled PAUSE.
This episode is special to me because I’m trying on some of the things that I’ve been the learning and sharing this season. I’m taking time to listen to my body, being gentle with myself, and giving myself the time and space to allow the natural ebbs and flows of life.
I’m thankful to be surrounded by a loving community that helped me reflect and following through when I asked myself the question “What do I need right now?”
I’m about to live through a busy time of change over the next couple of months and as I take time to listen inside and be with all the good that lie ahead I’ve made the decision to press pause before producing, editing, and sharing my final episodes for this season.
For most of my life, I’ve lived in a binary mode of all or nothing. Full steam ahead or quit and walk away. My normal way of operating would be to push myself and force out these last episodes but I’m going to practice what I preach and give myself permission to press pause and to give myself the space that I need right now.
I appreciate all of you who have been following along and sharing your love, support, and encouragement across this season so it was important for me not to just ‘go dark’ and disappear for a while.
As you reflect on that question I want to leave you with a loving prayer and meditation that I’ve adapted from the late Louise Hay. I use this prayer as a loving reminder of who I am and who I’ve been designed to be. I hope you’ll be reminded of who you really are through these words.
Deep at the centre of my being, there is an infinite well of love. I now allow this love to flow to the surface. It fills my heart, my body, my mind, my consciousness, my very being, and radiates out from me in all directions and returns to me multiplied. The more love I use and give, the more I have to give; the supply is endless. The use of love makes ME FEEL GOOD. It is an expression of my inner joy.
I love myself; therefore, I provide a comfortable home for myself, one that fills all my needs and is a pleasure to be in. I fill the rooms with the vibration of love so that all who enter, myself included, will feel this love and be nourished by it.
I love myself; therefore, I work at a job that I truly enjoy doing, one that uses my creative talents and abilities, working with and for people whom I love and who love me, and earning a good income.
I love myself; therefore I behave and think in a loving way to all people, for I know that that which I give out returns to me multiplied. I only attract loving people in my world, for they are a mirror of what I am.
I love myself; therefore, I forgive and totally release the past and all past experiences. I am free.
I love myself; therefore, I live totally in the now, experiencing each moment as good, and knowing that my future is bright, joyous, and secure.
I love myself and I know that I am accepted and unconditionally loved by God. My heart, my mind, my body, my spirit, my gender expression, my sexuality and the way that I love, are created perfectly in God’s image.
I love myself and I know that I am created to thrive and to experience the full vibrancy of life.
I love myself and I know that I am created on purpose and my purpose is to fully love myself, connect deeply with others and share my love with the rest of the world.
I love myself and I know that I am a beloved child of God who lovingly takes care of me now and forever more.
You are loved.
